The Walker College Academic Advising Center is a centralized advising center staffed by professional advisors who serve declared business majors at Appalachian State University.  The center is located in 2126 Raley Hall, which is just inside the second floor student lounge.  Business majors can visit the center for assistance with academic planning, registration problems and for the mandatory graduation audit near the end of his or her academic career..

How to Make an Appointment to See a Business Advisor

Business majors who want to meet with a business advisor should go to 2126 Raley Hall and sign up in one of the "Advising" appointment notebooks in the service window (unfortunately, we do not yet have the software for online appointment scheduling)..

Business majors (with the exception of international business majors) do not have assigned advisors. International business majors should sign up to see Meredith Church. All other business majors should sign up to see Bob or Sheryl.

Although advising is typically not required for business students, we strongly urge students to see a business advisor periodically in order to be sure of a timely graduation. COB students are not required to see an advisor before registering for classes; however, all business students must have a graduation audit in order to register for the final semester capstone classes, MGT 4750 and BUS 4000 (BUS 4000 is only required of students on the 2009-2010 or later catalogs).
